I had my second eye surgery yesterday. If my spelling isn't what it should be, it's because my near vision is still a bit impaired. But, my distance eye (left one) is doing well. Kind of funny to see everything in the distance without my glasses or contacts. It's also funny how, when I get up in the middle of the night or early in the morning, I used to reach for my glasses (don't ask me why, the toilet is always in the same place...doesn't move). I compare it to a smoker who quit, doesn't know what to do with the hand that used to hold the cigarette. Maybe it's just me.
I may need to go back in a month or so to have them do a little lasik surgery on the close vision eye. There was more astigmatism in that eye and they need to tweak it a bit. That's kind of scary thinking they have to "tweak" one of my eyes with a powerful red beam that can cut through almost anything. Oh well, I do want to read my books and students' essays without using those funky reading glasses. I so envy people with perfect vision...a.k.a. ERIN!
